6 Tips to Keep Your Dog Safe This Summer

It’s hard for pets to keep cool when the sun is heating the place up. Though dogs sweat but panting is what really cools them down and when there is only hot air for a dog to breathe, it’s a lot harder for him to keep cool. Here are 6 tips to keep your dog cool this summer!

1. Ensure access to drinking water and shade.
A cool bowl of water can save them from dehydration.

2. Protect your dog from parasites like fleas, ticks and mosquitoes.
Lyme disease is a common problem in summers!

3. Keep your dog's paws cool.
Don't take them on a walk on the hot road, grass is a much better option.

4. Never leave your dog in a hot car.
And if you must, roll down the windows and put a bowl of water near them.

5. Save them from a Sunburn
Yes, dogs get those too! Talk to your vet for the appropriate sunscreen for your dog or just simply avoid the direct sun like you would do for yourself.

6. Get a Kiddy Pool
A great way to cool off is a dip in the water.

Have a safe summer!
