Bud, a stray dog was found in a shocking and sad state, with a fate no one deserves. Bud  was injured severely when a group of students  placed fireworks in the dog’s mouth and lit them up near the campus university in the municipality of Cascavel, in the state of Parana, Brazil. After this they left the dog to suffer in tremendous pain. There is no indication on who can have carried out this despicable act. The students behind this are still out there, free to abuse more animals at anytime.

With the festive season round the corner we have to realise and respect the space that these strays occupy in the society and in our eco system. Diwali brings with it a host of firecrackers and loud noises that animals find difficult to bear.

Animals, both pet  and stray, tremble with fear, as they cannot bear the loud noises. Stray animals run around trying to hide from the noise. People who find it amusing to tie firecrackers on stray animals and let them loose must be informed, that this is a serious offence under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and is a punishable offence if proved, with fine, imprisonment or both.

Enjoy a cracker free Diwali this year and feed a stray instead! Trust us, this feels better.
