Vodafone India’s Beloved Pug Is Now Back!

It is difficult to get that image of an adorable pug following a little boy, wherever he goes, out of our heads and for good reason. After several years, Vodafone is back with the boy and his pug to announce the launch of its new campaign, SuperNet 4G, labelled as a ‘seamless network experience’ for data and voice.

Conceptualized by Ogilvy & Mather, the new ad campaign focuses on four major announcements: the little boy beating a drum about Vodafone’s new services; driving a truck with Cheeka in the tow; painting a wall; and running up and down a staircase; each showcasing Vodafone’s seamless connectivity. Shot in Thailand, the campaign features two Cheeka lookalikes. The emphasis is on how Vodafone establishes instant connections.

 

Siddharth Banerjee, National Head, Brand Communication and Insights, Vodafone India, was quoted as saying, “Research has shown that the endearing Vodafone pug has had one of the most impactful and long standing connects with the Vodafone brand symbolic with our network. Our communication strategy for this launch was to highlight the benefits of our seamless network and service experience and who better to announce it than Cheeka the pug!”
