Today has been a bit different from my usual routine. Before getting into the details, will be just fair for you to know me. I am Bishu Jindal, a 4-year-old pug.
I woke up from my afternoon siesta at the sound of the leash. Odd time for that, but who cares; leash is a happy sight anyway. I got excited as I heard mom mention grooming, even though the travel to the salon drains me out. The worry changed into delight as instead of going to our car, we walked towards this bright blue and yellow van which said “Flying Fur”. I hadn’t seen anything like this before. The van didn’t have any seats but had a table, a huge bathtub, lots of bottles, trimmers and brushes. Yes, the grooming salon had come home today!
There were 2 work-obsessed looking men who picked me up and carefully placed me on the table. Mom asked them for a “basic grooming”. They first cleaned my ears, which is not a very pleasant experience but I’m used to it by now. A pedicure followed, and all the ticks and fleas were gone. I was huffing and panting with all the heat when one of the men gave me a nice, foamy bath with lots of yummy smelling shampoo. I was happily shaking the water off me when they placed me on the table again, only to be treated by the big air monster to dry my coat. The air pressure was so strong that I felt I will reach home flying from the table. Thankfully, they spared the adventure. Though I must give it to them for the lovely fragrance they sprinkled all over me and for the beautiful red ribbon they tied around my neck.
Feeling more confident and smarter than before, I walked out with my nose (read my face) up in the air. I am usually half asleep after such grooming sessions and am fretting about the ride back home. But the moment I stepped out of the van, I realised I only had to take the lift to reach the comfort of my bed. What a relief! I licked the groomers (were nice people!) thank you and we trotted off with a big smile.
