International Pet Relocation - Import

• NOC: Also known as a No Objection Certificate, it is an import permit which is mandatory for any animal movement in or out of the country, regardless of whether the animal is accompanied by baggage or a part of airline cargo.
• Quarantine Certificate: A certificate stating your animal has received the mandatory vaccinations is required before any movement. This document is given by Animal Quarantine and Certification Service (AQCS) and certifies your pet is healthy and disease-free.

Animal Quarantine

Animal quarantine is a necessary practice in every country, and is used to prevent the entry of a dangerous zoonotic diseases or infections an animal from a foreign country may be carrying. The government denies entry to infectious livestock with no exceptions or arguments. The health of human beings is central to the socio-economic development of a country, and cannot be risked. We care deeply about your pet, so we ensure that all the necessary documentation for your pet is accounted for. AQCS stands for ‘Animal Quarantine & Certification Services.’  AQCS are the ones responsible for prescribing animal quarantine, and they are also responsible for a few other crucial documents required for an international import/export job.

A document known as the No Objection Certificate (NOC) is required when a pet is transferred. In order to obtain this document, a quarantine period is involved to ensure your pet is healthy and is not carrying any infectious diseases.

An import license is required to import pets for a short period (tourist visa) or for a change in ownership. This license can be obtained through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). A quarantine period of 30-days in the country of origin is prescribed for pets entering India due to a change in ownership.
