Just Dogs Raised $7M From Sixth Sense Ventures

pet industry funding

Retail chain startup Just Dogs has received its first funding of $7M since its founding in 2011. The investment came from the consumer-focused venture fund Sixth Sense Ventures. Just Dogs has plans to create a full-fledged online experience for the pet parents in addition to further building on its offline presence.

Just Dogs was founded by the husband-wife duo Poorvi and Ashish Anthony as an omnichannel retailer for pet products and services. Currently, the company caters to more than 1.5L customers and has a presence across 42 stores. Just Dogs provides a plethora of products through its platforms like dog foods, supplements, accessories and other pet products. They recently ventured into products for cats as well along with pet insurance and publishing a pet magazine called ‘Creature Companion’.

Through their offline stores, Just Dogs also provides services like pet training and grooming for pets. This is where the founder, Ashish’s expertise, being a trained K9 specialist from the Police Dog Center, Holland, comes into play.

Since the last decade, the founders had bootstrapped the startup profitably, and the investment from Sixth Sense Ventures represents the first round of funding Just Dogs has received from an outside investor.

Just Dogs has also been a partner and consecutive title sponsor for Pet Fed events for the longest time. A big congratulations to the entire team.
