And we’re not even kitten! Opened in January 2016, by animal rescuer Osha Shetty and her techie husband Vishwanath Raghunath, The Cat Studio acts both as a stop gap foster home for cats and also as a co-working space.
Osha’s vision for The Cat Studio is to educate people about cats, while helping find loving forever homes for desi cats. It is also meant for folks who want to adopt a cat, but are not sure and would like some facetime before taking a call. If adoption is not what you are looking for, step in to spend some quality time with these adorable purr balls!
“Give cats a chance” is Osha’s appeal to animal lovers across India. “As one of the easiest pets to have, cats have no separation anxiety issues, are extremely independent and sleep twelve hours a day. The Cat Studio is our attempt to raise awareness and encourage adoption.” They have very stringent adoption rules and pre and post adoption checks are performed.
Osha, who works closely with the The Bangalore Cat Squad (Bangalore based animal rescue group), wanted to build a community around homeless cats. Instead of opening a shelter, the couple decided to open a "Cat Studio" which would serve as a temporary home for the kitties till they find their forever homes. Sounds purrfect doesn't it!
The studio is open from 11 am – 8 pm and charges Rs. 50 for 15 minutes and Rs. 70 for 30 mins.
