The Pawrfect Wingman

There he stands, by the door, in his favourite black shirt and blue jeans. He calls out to me and I know it's time for another ride! Do you get what I'm talking about yet? We are going on another one of his dates! I have been a part of so many of his shenanigans that I now know all his moves. My job here is to look cute, lick his girlfriends and play with them as they swoon all over me. I hate these girls pulling my cheeks and putting me on their lap. Yes! You guessed it right, I'm a cute little puppy a.k.a my Dad's wingman. But I am going to change the game today.

At the park where Dad is meeting his date, I'm my perfect angelic self; he even tosses a treat at me for it. Suddenly, a girl rushes at me, squealing with joy! I brace myself for the cuddling. As she extends an arm towards me, I growl and bare my teeth, teasing her, refusing to let her touch me. Dad is surprised and the girl steps back. My first task has been accomplished with perfection.

She asks Dad if she could hold my leash while we are strolling in the park, he readily agrees. Just the opportunity I was looking for. As she takes the leash, I sprint, flying into the wind, making her run as fast as she possibly can in those high heels. It was so amusing. As she bends to get the mud off of her shoes I make an apologetic ‘puppy face’ and stare at her with my big, round eyes. She takes the bait and scoops me up into her arms. This is my moment of glory. I pee all over her pretty dress and she lets out a cry of disgust. I laugh with pleasure. Dad looks sternly at me. I tilt my head and stick my tongue out at him. The girl then decides to leave saying that she doesn't feel well. That’s the oldest trick in the book to make a quick escape.

My plan to foil this date has worked wonders! I have outdone my self with nobody knowing my true intentions. Now, Dad and I can enjoy some alone time. On the way back he leans in and whispers, "I know what you did there buddy." Thank God he isn’t angry!  In fact, he seemed rather amused. We laugh all the way home looking back at what an eventful day it has been. So much for being, ‘the pawrfect wingman'!
